The Colnago Master model line has five different versions (the Master, Master Più, Master Olympic, Master Light, and Master X-Light).
The Colnago Master range was famous for its Columbus Gilco tubesets, with distinctive crimped sections.
What we have here is the Colnago Master Olympic with its original Art Decor paint and decals.
Our Colnago Master Olympic is equipped with a Campagnolo Chorus Groupset and Colnago Precisia fork.
Condition
Used. The bicycle is in good condition. The frame has no cracks, no dents and is not bent. The paintwork and decals are all original. All parts have been checked and are working fine. The bicycle went through a full checkup at Steel Vintage Bikes workshop! All parts were disassembled, cleaned and re-assembled again. The frame was checked for structural integrity and all wearing parts were replaced with new ones. You can expect the bicycle in fantastic riding condition and ready to go for your vintage bike ride.

This is a charming example of the finest steel tubed road frame and forks produced since the 1980s by prestigious Italian manufacturer Colnago. Needless to say, we have built it up with an appropriate ensemble of high end Italian components, the 8-speed Record gruppo of course from Campagnolo. Frankly, a frame and fork of this very high calibre ought never to be encumbered with components from the far East. To do so would detract from the obvious fact that every Colnago Master Olympic is a proud celebration of the very best of Italian hand manufacture.
THE FRAME
The distinctive Columbus Gilco Design tubing, crimped for increased rigidity, is joined by beautiful lugs, which are chromed at the head tube. The straight bladed Master fork provides pleasingly precise directional control. The colour scheme of this particular frame is actually quite reserved in comparison to most examples of the typically much more colourful Master Olympic breed. The basic colour is purple, with blue as a background colour for the largest Colnago lettering either side of the down tube and seat tube. This, being a Master Olympic model, sports a painstakingly airbrushed colour scheme on the three main tubes plus a full compliment of tattoo-come-flame embellishments, and perfect faded accents.
THE SETUP
Every Master Olympic is emblazoned with Ernesto Colnago’s signature at the rear drive side of the top tube, but this road racer is further enhanced with pantographed signatures either side of the chrome TIG welded ITM aero stem, which grips matching Forma SL ergonomic drop handlebars. The next proud owner will enjoy every fast ride from upon a comfortably deeply flanked, stylish and comfortable Selle Italia Flite Titanium saddle in black leather. They’ll be cruising at high velocity on a pair of Campagnolo Moskva rims laced to Campagnolo Chorus hubs. Impressive traction and low rolling resistance comes courtesy of Vittoria Corsa Graphene 2.0 tyres, with pale sidewalls for a traditional aesthetic. Favolosa!
